Meet Jennifer
Licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board since 2002, Jennifer Essary brings more than 24 years of hands on experience in therapeutic massage and bodywork. Over the years, her work has continued to evolve through extensive training in myoskeletal alignment, myofascial release, neurodynamics, craniosacral therapy, and other approaches to working with the body.
Jennifer’s approach to massage is intentional and individualized. Rather than following the same routine from one appointment to the next, she pays attention to what your body is telling her and adjusts the session accordingly. She uses slow, deliberate techniques to address areas of tension, restricted movement, and muscular imbalance without relying on force. The goal is to get the results you are looking for from therapeutic massage without leaving you feeling like you need another appointment just to recover from the last one.
Her work is particularly focused on the neck, shoulders, mid and low back, hips, and the patterns of tension that can develop from posture, repetitive movement, injuries, stress, or simply the way we spend our days. Whether you are dealing with an ongoing problem, recovering from an injury, or just know that your body needs some attention, each session is adapted to what you need that day.
Jennifer’s interest in the body doesn’t stop at massage. With a degree in Environmental Science and a background in analytical chemistry, she has always been interested in figuring out how things work and looking a little closer when something doesn’t make sense. That curiosity eventually led her to explore the relationship between nutrition, lifestyle, inflammation, movement, and how people feel.
After experiencing her own significant changes in joint pain and stiffness through nutrition and lifestyle changes, Jennifer became a Certified Primal Health Coach in 2016. Since then, she has continued studying nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and other factors that can influence how we feel from day to day.
This perspective has become an important part of how she works with clients. Sometimes the answer really is more bodywork. Sometimes there are other things worth looking at, too. What you eat, how you move, how well you sleep, how much time you spend sitting, your stress level, and countless other everyday factors can all become part of the bigger picture.
Jennifer doesn’t believe there is one perfect approach that works for everyone. She also doesn’t think you should have to blindly follow the latest health trend or accept that feeling stiff, tired, or uncomfortable is simply a normal part of getting older. Her goal is to help you understand your body, ask better questions, and make choices that actually make sense for you.
Whether you come in for therapeutic massage, craniosacral therapy, or health coaching, Jennifer takes the same approach: pay attention, stay curious, and work with what is actually happening rather than forcing your body into a predetermined plan.
Because sometimes your body isn’t broken. It’s trying to tell you something.
Let’s get curious.
